Jumpbean Enterprises
In the early 1980's the concept of Jumpbean Enterprises began to form. Our founder, J. Michele Parker Bodkin, was sitting in her room playing with her initials. and from her initials, JMP our name began to form. Before she graduated high school, Ms Bodkin had decided she would use the name JuMPbean for any business venture she decided to take on.

JuMPBean Enterprises entered its first incarnation in the early 1990's when Ms Bodkin met up with a Scriptwriter from Dunedin, FL. They discussed several projects and began to consider what they needed to proceed with the venture. Time and lives slipped quickly by and JuMPBean Enterprises slipped to life's back burner.

The name of JuMPBean lay dormant for more than a decade as Ms Bodkin searched for what she really wanted to do with her life and started a family. She returned to her first love of crafting words in the little free time she was able to find between jobs and raising her three children.

In August 2002, Ms. Bodkin left retail sales after an intermittant 15 year stint in customer service. She returned to writing on a more regular basis, focusing on several stories that she had started. She began to organize her works and get them into her computer. This endeavor was thwarted when a computer crash deleted nearly all of her work.

The following November, Ms Bodkin formed a friendship with Donna Wilson, whom she met on a mailing list for writers. This friendship led to a collaborative effort on a fantasy novel that was never completed. The collaborative effort led to discussion of starting a company with the ideals of e-publishing the best manuscripts by new and established authors.

With these ideals Jumpbean Enterprises was resurrected as a full service publishing company. Ms Wilson brought with her the art department and web design facilities. The planning stages of the company yielded little forward motion. In an attempt to gain momentum, the webmistress and senior editor called for diversification. This lead to projects such as bi-polarbears and writer's diner. With limited staff, the company became spread too thin.

Unwilling and unable to support both her projects and the fledgling company, Ms Wilson decided to leave the company to persue her own projects. As a part of the agreement with Ms Bodkin, writer's diner and bi-polarbears left the company with Ms Wilson.

After Ms Wilson left the company, Jumpbean Enterprises was left without a Web Design Team. The search for a new Webmistress was short lived as Ms Bodkin found a local design company that fit the needs of Jumpbean Enterprises. In exchange for space on the Jumbean Enterprises site and advertising through Jumpbean Enterprises, RoseBlade took over creation and management of Jumpbean Enterprises on the Web.

We will miss Ms Wilson as she was an integral part of many of the projects at Jumpbean Enterprises. We wish her all the best in her future.

With a foot in the past and an eye on the future Jumpbean Enterprises is regrouping and reassessing our plans for our future... Come along for the ride.
